The Windsor Hotel Toya is a high-class resort hotel located on the top of Mount Poromoi at an elevation of 625 meters and looks down on Toyako to the east and on Uchiura Bay to the west. The trapezoid-shaped hotel has 11 above-ground floors and 1 underground floor and has 398 rooms. However, in order to ensure quality, the hotel accepts reservations for 300 rooms at most at any one time. Facilities include a pool, a golf course, ski runs, hot spring bath, and a three-star restaurant.
In addition, the hotel is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World association, headquartered in the U.S. state of New York, and is recognized as a first-class hotel throughout the world.
On April 23, 2007, a decision was made to hold the G8 Summit at the hotel.
